What is Watson's Mill in Manotick?
Short answer
Watson's Mill is a Manotick landmark on the Rideau River: a working museum with an operational grist mill on the Rideau River. Wikipedia describes it as the only working museum in the Ottawa area.
As of · Updated
Founded as the Long Island Flouring Mills in 1860, it was renamed after Harry Watson bought it in 1946. The Rideau Valley Conservation Authority bought it in 1972 and developed it into a museum. It is open to the public in summer and still sells stone-ground whole wheat flour made on site.
